Johnson 175 compression. I'd be looking for around 105 lbs on each cylinder.
Just what I have been told not really a rule of thumb. I am looking to purchase a 2000 175 fitch motor with 200 hours on it with controls etc for $1500. Couple of Questions. Had the throttle all the way open and removed all 6 plugs. I took the compression on it and the following is what I found. The motor seems to run smooth but has lost power for sure. I hooked up a timing light to the engine and found out that cylinders 2-6 are firing on time and cylinder 1 is off. It would be hard to start and it did not like to idle.
